My HTML5 video is completely silent at all times in Google Chrome, any suggestions what might be wrong?

Probably a software issue. I don't think Chrome has an OSS backend. pcm-oss ALSA plugin might work though. I may try making a backend...

Why do you think that Chrome has not OSS backend?

I have have Chrome installed with "FlashBlock", and Chrome plays videos in YouTube with sound.

It seems that Chrome has a kind of FFmpeg, and ffmpeg has OSS backend (for playback and recording).

To avoid any confusion - I am talking strictly about HTML5 video, not flashplayer. You can try HTML5 for youtube here:

It does not work indeed. No sound in HTML5 video with OSS4 and Chrome browser.
