Multiple card device ordering

I am setting up a system with two multichannel sound cards (1010LT/Envy24) to provide 16 independent mono recording channels. I have edited oss_envy24.conf to give me 16 mono inputs and 16 mono outputs. Do I need to fiddle with udev rules to guarantee that the device ordering will always be the same following a reboot, or does oss take care of that?

Never tried this config, but I do believe it's always the same... OSS doesn't use udev under Linux anyway. /dev/oss/.../ nodes are created by ossdetect command and /dev/dsp* symlinks are created by ossdevlinks command or by legacy_devices script.
