noise? help

noise? help

i tried to install oss on my laptop, but when i try "sudo soundon" i get a loud and terrible noise, followed by telling my it calused a crash upon next attempt, what do i do?

Can you try using the source from mercurial? See here how to build and install OSS from source.

Well, you could erase /usr/lib/oss/starting and try soundon again, but I presume it crashed originally? Therefor I suggested trying mercurial.
