Is there a distro or ubuntu /fedora spin which has OSS working out of box?

I tried to get it to work in my dell e5400 with ubuntu 10.10 and lost the sound altogether.

You may try this: http://www.4front-tech.com/forum/viewto ... 711#p16711

It might be much easier to install Arch on 50 different computers than to fix Ubuntu 10.10 on one computer

It seems that the Russian kids easily switched from Ubuntu to Arch.
