Tick Noise in Ubuntu

Hello, I am new to linux and oss. I installed oss version 4 instead of alsa in my Ubuntu 10.10 (32bit). I listen music with mpd or ossplay. When I play music using one of the two players, there occur randomly tick noises at 10 to 20 minute intervals. I am using halide bridge (ddc) which is connected from usb of my PC (e3400, 4gb ram, gigabyte mainboard). I tried to adjust buffer in osscore file (set to 128(kbyte)) but it does not affect the noises (a little lessened but not sure).

Is there any way to eliminate the tick noise? It bugs me. Thank you in advance.

Can you paste the output of 'ossmix -a' and of 'ossinfo -v3'?

It's like popping noise. It becomes louder if the volume is up.....
