Need help with Asus Xonar DG

Hello,

I am running Ubuntu 11.04 beta with an Asus Xonar DG. I followed this guide to change to OSS. https://help.ubuntu.com/community/OpenSound

When I put in my Creative Soundblaster sound card OSS works flawlessly. However, when I use my Xonar DG (which I prefer, it's newer and better) it does not work.

The ATI HD audio is my internal audio which I do not want to use. The CMedia CMI8788 is the Xonar's chipset.

When I run

I can only select HD audio (rear entry, front entry, etc.)

Where should I start trying to get my Xonar DG to work? I have looked at the wiki but found nothing that could help me.

Start with porting the ALSA driver (http://git.alsa-project.org/?p=alsa-kernel.git;a=blob;hb=HEAD;f=sound/pci/oxygen/xonar_dg.c) to OSS.

I tried alsa and it doesn't work for my Xonar DG. That's the reason why I'm using OSS in the first place.

It probably has different codec than DS, DX, etc... I suggest asking the devs on oss-devel mailing list to add support.
