RE: Undefined symbol when pkgadd oss-solaris-v4.0-158-i386

Hi,

I have downloaded oss-solaris-v4.0-158-i386.pkg.bz2 and then follow the installation
instruction on my machine but only to find many undefined symbols during pkgadd.

The sound device is an onboard chip VIA VT82C686 AC97 audio.
I am running Solaris 10 (x86) .
What have I missed? Please help...

I use pkgadd -d oss-solaris-v4.0-158-i386.pkg after log in the command line console.

The installation finished but it saids the device cannot be attached after reboot.

Well, you're not alone. Got the same
undefined symbols problem. I checked
all kinds of stuff but can't find
what the problem is.

On an unrelated note I noticed the grep
command used in the oss init script
for the stop function uses "grep -q".
That doesn't seem available with the
stock grep in /usr/bin. Okay if using
the xpg4 or GNU grep.

(posted using Lynx so I have no idea
what this post will look like)

Thanks for notifying us - this problem will be solved shortly - there seems to be a problem with the Solaris 11 compiler because the package installs fine on build 35 - we test the package installation before putting on our website.
