Remote Audio Device

Postby edberg » Fri May 19, 2006 10:32 am

How can i read/write in a remote /dev/audio device?

I use this code for the local device:
int fd open ( "/dev/audio", O_WRONLY|O_NONBLOCK);
write (fd, v_Buffer, v_Long_Buffer);

How can i get the /dev/audio from a remote machine?

Thanks

You can't!. You would need to use something like Media Application Server (MAS) or ESD that can handle playing to remote displays.

because there's no way to transport the remote computer's audio bits.

You can try googling for "netcat" and see if that works.
