Solaris 10 on DELL Latitude LS Laptop

I am try to getting the OSS sound driver to work with a NeoMagic NMG5 + AC97 Codec. At the moment "soundon" just makes a continuous gigacounter noise. I have to switch-off to make it stop. Any suggestions welcomed.

We've never tested the NMG5 (NM2200 + AC97) on Solaris but technically
it should just work. Submit a support request .

One thing you can do is disable the virtual mixer (run soundconf,
select Contiguration Options and set softoss_disable to 1)
