Hello All -
Would someone care to give some advice on how to troubleshoot my problem?
I have oss installed and the sounds works technically, but the quality is poor - sound is muffled and scratchy. When I adjust volume to higher levels, I lose sound altogether.

run ossinfo -v and post it here.
Run osstest and see which device yields the best audio - then do rm /dev/dsp and ln -s /dev/oss/haudio0/pcmXX /dev/dsp

I was playing around with ossmix and changed:
codec1.jack.pink.mode <center> (currently center/LFE)
to
codec1.jack.pink.mode <center> (currently input)
Works like a charm now!
