Is it possible for two apps to open the audio device?

I'm using OSS on a Solaris 10 x86 machine. The sound system is working fine.

Is it possible for two apps to open the audio device *at the same time*? I mean,
could app X plays a sound while app Y is using the audio device?

Yes that's how OSS works by default audio is sent to the virtual devices
(run two apps and look at ossxmix -d1)

Well, I'm trying to run two apps, but when I run the other app, I get an
error message telling me that the device is busy.

How can I fix this?
