I have an ASUS K8S-MX (horrible, horrible mb), which has the same internal sound chip, on the same irq, and it works out of the box (Linux 2.6) with OSSv4 without any ALC655 patch, so I don't think it's the ich driver. Maybe its related to an interaction with FreeBSD? You could test OSSv4 on an Linux livecd.

May be later I will test Linux, and one thing ... when FreeBSD using kernel module without patch, red lamp lights headphones socket, and when using OSS too (% ...
