Hi,

Does your motherboard have the MIDI output port?. if not it means that there's MPU401 on the systemboard and hence OSS will not be able to detect the device.

Then check in the BIOS what the IRQ and IO ports values are and then boot BSD and run soundconf -> Select Manual configuration and set the values.

Look under the integrated devices - if you have a midi port then it will show a configuration for that device.

I've just tested the ICH driver on an ICH1 device under FreeBSD 5.3 (x86) and sure enough the MIDI port get s configured just fine.

I've checked my Nforce2 motherboard (AMD Athlon-32bit) and it doesn't have any MIDI ports so I must believe that the Nforce3 doesn't have integrated MPU401 either.

It's a hardcoded option in the configuration system and we'll fix it in the next version.
