100% CPU usage in wine

Postby caligae » Fri Mar 10, 2006 6:33 pm

I just updated to 3.99.4a.

I'm using foobar2000+wine most of the time.

Since this update wine uses all available CPU time when playing a file -- this also causes distortions in sound sometimes.

It worked fine with the previous version.

Any hints? (I can use esd as a workaround for now)

I had 50% CPU until I did the "winecfg -> Hardware Acceleration -> change Full to Emulation" thing at this helpful site:
http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/ind ... opic=54933

Now it's about 4% CPU, tho that trick doesn't seem to work for everyone.

Good luck!
