Intel HDA kernel panic - what to do?

So I have a Realtek Intel HDA
sound card on my laptop, and I'm
running into kernel panics. I've
already done ossupdate with no luck

Is there anything further I can do
do get it resolved? Would sending
in a trouble ticket help? What info
do I need to provide?

There is quite a lot of people who have the same problem (including me ).

I suppose we just have to wait until this issue is fixed

alternatively, there should be an improved soundsystem in freebsd 6.1 and the multimedia list has started a project for Intel HDA Support. see http://www.freebsd.org/news/status/report-jan-2006-mar-2006.html#Sound-subsystem-improvements (but nothing testable yet, i suppose).

looking forward to the next OSS release.
