New challenge problem for Dev

Postby txlogic » Wed Jan 26, 2005 11:31 pm

So I can now use xmms for streaming audio thanks to Dev's suggestions. But I just discovered that I am unable to play CDs. If I try the usual procedure under xmms and use the CD plugin, xmms can see the tracks on the CD, but when I try to play them, the XMMS section in ossxmix disappears and I get no sound. Other CD players fail as well.

Suggestions most welcome!

Use XMMS and configure the CD audio plug to use Digital Audio Extraction mode. Now your CDs will play via the /dev/dsp rather than the analog passthough cable (which is needed between the soundcard and the cdrom)
