MIDI device

Postby shevan » Fri Oct 02, 2009 3:26 pm

greetings

I have OSS v4.2 installed on my Debian squeeze system.
Sound is working, but I get a trouble with Wine.
Code: Select all
winecfg
ALSA lib seq_hw.c:457:(snd_seq_hw_open) open /dev/snd/seq failed: no such file or device

looking at ossinfo return me no midi device
Code: Select all
Number of audio devices:   1
Number of audio engines:   6
Number of MIDI devices:   0
Number of mixer devices:   1

I don't know from where to start and how to create this device.

PS sorry for my pure english
thanks much

That message is harmless.. If libwine-oss is installed, and wine is set up to use OSS driver (via winecfg), wine should be able to output sound normally.

First, do exactly that, run on Terminal:

dpkg --configure -a

or

sudo dpkg --configure -a

If this does not help, there are other methods too.

For example, this hack:

Purging deb (example)

Yes. Something strange. Somebody tried to remove WINE and got that message:
run "dpkg --configure -a"

Remove it, of course.
