Please send us the soundon.log - if' it's Envy24PT device, OSS should
say that the device is Envy24PT rather than saying Generic Envy24HT.

Some another interesting - i tried two another sound cards with OSS 3.99.2b:

- Aureal Vortex 2 (8820)
- Ensoniq ES1373-B

oss didn't recongize any from above and I didn't find how to add this card
to config by hands or didn't find them at soundconf list.
Sure, I can use native FreeBSD sound driver Ensonic 137x or aureal-kmod ports and I did that for check - both cards worked well.
I dont undestand why OSS didnt recognize them and more important
for me to use integrated Envy24 sound.
I will gratefull for any advice and help, I can degrade my FreeBSD OS
to 5.3-RELEASE if need or can do some other job and info.
I want to buy this driver, but it dont work under my system.

You need to run soundconf and select Autodetect devices.
These should be properly detected by OSS.

Regarding the ENvy24PT device, please look at dmesg output and see
if OSS complained about any subdevice/subvendor IDs? It's likely that
we don't have this specific ID in our database. However you can try
one thing:

Run soundconf, select Configuration Options and select
envy24ht_model and set it to 1 (this is in the README.configoptions file)
and this way you can force OSS to detect your Envy24PT device.

as result, after opened my pc-box, I saw sound chpset VIA VT1720 and
it unsupported OSS driver or may have mistakes at Envy driver.

For example, I spent one day for install SuSE Linux 9.2 with ALSA, and
there isnt any problem with hwscan(autodetect sound) and load alsa
driver and use alsamixer, as result driver worked well and sound was
cool. After that, I was unload alsa driver and install OSS 3992b, problem
was the same as in FreeBSD.

Unfortunate results, Im very sad.

That is why the next question, did the OSS plan to correct Envy driver for
VIA VT1720 support (now there are many motherboard has it integrated)

I don't want to use Linux and so Im interesting OSS support Envy24 - chipset VIA VT1720.

PS. Probably, problem is not with envy driver, but with ossmix, but I don't
have time for deep check-test-debug it.

Thanks for your time.

Hi,

We do support the Envy24PT device - you need to send us the soundon.log file to support@opensound.com so that we can see what has been configured and we also need to see the dmesg output from OSS.

We have customers working perfectly with the Envy24PT on Chaintec motherboards.
