Hey PauPau, I'm getting the exact same problem as you, but I think I know the reason. This is from your ossinfo that you posted (note the last word on the line):

Version info: OSS 4.2 (b 2000/200909092208) (0x00040100) EXPIRED


If you had run soundon manually you probably would be seeing the same message that I am:

****************************************************************
* NOTE! Your Open Sound System evaluation license has expired  *
****************************************************************


OSS4 apparently has an evaluation license that expires after 6 months. However updating overrides this.

Aha, and I was just going to post again. Since I rebooted and.... no sound.
Hmmm... I guess there's probably no alternative but investing, then?

Well, there's a new build out you could install... But perhaps you'd like to build OSS from source? That should get rid of any 'expired' crap, since the open source doesn't have the check... See here how to do this.
