Open Sound System

I'm a total newbie to OSS and solaris, so scuze that...

I have an x86 machine with a turtle beach santa cruz
and an onboard CMedia card.
When OSS attempts to start the sound driver
(ie when i tell it to do an audio test)
It freezes and takes solaris with it....

Try setting the following in /etc/system (an reboot):

set pcplusmp:apic_forceload = -1

what is this parameter supposed to do? I have been lot of panics with the same card.
