Patch to fix bug with oss_hdaudio and ALC662

Postby bitbytebit » Tue Jan 04, 2011 12:08 am

This patch fixes the ALC662 sound card, otherwise it returns an error about not enough connectors ( was 24, works when increased ).

I attached a log of before applying the patch, when it didn't work.

Do you have microphone working with ICH7 and OSS4?

I'm not sure, it's from another person that I'm trying to get a liveCD Linux mame system working for. He sent me the logs, I altered the source with this patch seeing the error, and now he has sound working. Alsa can't get his sound card to work, that's why I started using OSS4 and it seems to allow sound with this patch. So the system really is only setup to emulate arcade games, it's an arcade cabinet arcade monitor hooked up to a pc, which is looking like it'll finally work for him with Linux (works fine in Windows).

I have tried (many times) to install OSS4 to a Dell notebook (ICH7) with Ubuntu 8.04.
Microphone does not work after the first reboot.
I have tried virtually everything.
Some progress was achieved with the immutable bit: in this case, microphone does work after the first reboot, but ceases to work after the second reboot (and some ALSA module is loaded, blacklisting does not help).
