How do you guys use vlc or xine on bsd? Oss is choppy as hell

Vlc errors
[00000327] oss audio output error: write failed (Resource temporarily unavailable)
[00000327] oss audio output error: write failed (Resource temporarily unavailable)
[00000327] oss audio output error: write failed (Resource temporarily unavailable)

Totem +Xine is choppy as well. Pretty mch not watchable, only mplayer and ogle work. In the past these applictions were blamed i dont think this is the case I dont know if something broke in oss cause also is fine on vlc and xine. So what do you guys do?

Known error. I don't think it's the apps fault either because it seems to work flawlessly with every other driver out there.

I use artsd as workaround (esd would probably work as well).
