FreeBSD 6 and Audigy 1 digital only

Postby vincococka » Fri Aug 10, 2007 11:23 am

Hi all

Card (pciconf -l ):
pcm0@pci4:5:0: class=0x040100 card=0x005c1102 chip=0x00041102 rev=0x03 hdr=0x00

OS: FreeBSD - 6 STABLE from 6.8.2007

Problem:
After installing oss via ports I got still digital output only from my Audigy card. I`ve tried setting sblive_digital_din and audigy_digital_din to 0 in sources, but nothing helped.. still got hiss from center and other speakers are quiet (in osstest).

When I use snd_emu10k1 driver, or modified snd_emu10kx (forced to analog mode in C source), everything runs well.

Any ideas or experiences ?

Best regards, Vince

same problem, different OS

I'm having that same problem but using Solaris. No one can give me an answer to the problem. No matter what I do, the driver always ignores sblive.conf's settings. My card is a standard audigy with the digital inputs and outs but not the external box that came with the premium version. Soundoff/soundon, ossdetect, reboot, nothing works. There's one other person in the Solaris forum group that had the same problem but no one ever answered him adequately either.

So... either 4front doesn't know what the problem is, or we're being ignored. Sound works fine in analog mode with windows (2k or XP), Alsa, and the normal FreeBSD drivers, but it's stuck in digital only with opensound v. 4 (tried both 1006 and 1007). I seem to remember this working just fine a long time ago with version 3.7 (or was it 3.9?). So there is a change in v. 4 that has things messed up from what i can tell.

Hi boys and girls

I`ve looked at my SB Audigy, and found that my model is SB0230. I`ve searched source code of OSS, but found nothing interesting for my eyes.

I hope that somebody who has required skill will repair this issue.

Thanks
