help with audigy ls, freebsd 6.2-stable

Postby roberth1990 » Mon Oct 22, 2007 3:12 pm

Hello, I have an issue here with my creative audigy ls sound card, I've compiled and installed oss from ports but I can load the right module, which one is it?

Code: Select all
none2@pci1:8:0: class=0x040100 card=0x100a1102 chip=0x00071102 rev=0x00 hdr=0x00
    vendor     = 'Creative Labs'
    device     = 'CA0106-DAT Audigy LS'
    class      = multimedia
    subclass   = audio

That's the audigyls module. :)

Why don't you just run ossdetect -v and then soundon?

Oh thank you, it's that easy, do I need to do anything to make it start at bootup to?

Gnome can't find the device, do I still need to load the module?

Sorry, I'm not using *BSD, but...

Basically you just have to add oss_enable="YES" to your /etc/rc.conf (searched it via Google - I give no warranty for that though) and it should work.

By the way, is it working now? Do you get sound when running osstest?

And if it works, could you do me favor? :)
