My problem is that the sound on xmms is repeating over and over (like some sort of echo) when I run soundon without a soundtest after..

I'm using /dev/dsp2 output the sound to the spdif, and I found out that this repeating bug is going away if I try to play some sound to /dev/dsp0 (analog output) prior to playing to /dev/dsp2..

Any idea ?

We'll check out the bug and figure out what's going on.

Just make sure that you don't have any memory allocation errors. Run
soundoff and soundon and make sure that there are no malloc messages
in dmesg spewed by OSS.

What version of FreeBSD are you on?
