You need to reboot the machine and run ossdetect again. The problem is that in Solaris when you switch drivers the device information is not always cleanly removed and therefore a reboot is necessary.

Hi,


You need to reboot the system and simply run ossdetect logging in as root on a Console Session. You can also try to run pkgrm oss and then reboot.


The installation manual mentions that you MUST log in only on the console mode when performing installations because when logged in on the Gnome Desktop - the audio system holds on to the existing device and this prevents it from getting unloaded.
